Description

Today our children are becoming increasingly urbanised and learn little about the origins of our food. They grow up thinking that eggs and milk come ready-packaged from the supermarket and are unaware of their animal origins. The Freddy Buttons series of books aims to educate children about the origins of food through fun stories.

In this exciting series of children’s storybooks, Freddy and his dog Juno are joined by their animal friends from the FBI (Freddy Buttons Investigators) as they uncover clues and solve mysteries from the garden and the farmyard beyond. With beautiful artwork by Irish illustrator Derry Dillon, the mysteries are inspired by tales of our food and where it comes from – and the abundance of fresh, wholesome ingredients available direct from Mother Nature.

As they solve each mystery, Freddy and Juno learn about the origins of eggs, honey, goat’s milk, strawberries, apples and potatoes. Each book also includes a “Do You Know” section of fun facts and an easy recipe using the featured food.

The Freddy Buttons series of books, aimed at children aged 5–8 years, will appeal to all children and parents who want to understand where their food comes from.
